About Clopidogrel 75 mg:-
Clopidogrel 75 mg is an anticoagulant drug and antiplatelet agent medication. It is used to help dissolve blood clots that occur on the lining of arteries before they lead to strokes or heart attacks. Clopidogrel also helps prevent clotting problems, so it may also be beneficial in preventing heart attack, strokes, or other cardiovascular complications. Clopidogrel may be used alone or with other blood thinners such as aspirin, warfarin (Coumadin), and heparin. In some cases, Clopidogrel can be combined with other medications for more targeted treatment of specific conditions such as atrial fibrillation.
How Clopidogrel 75 mg works ?
Clopidogrel is a medication that thins the blood. It prevents blood clots from forming in your blood vessels and is used to decrease the risk of heart attack or stroke. Clopidogrel works by reducing platelet activity and helping prevent platelets from sticking together. This slows down the coagulation (clotting) process and makes it less likely that plaque will form in your arteries, which could lead to a heart attack or stroke.
Clopidogrel 75 mg Oral Tablet is a medicine prescribed to prevent cardiovascular disease (heart attack and stroke) in patients with atrial fibrillation and other vascular disorders.
In treating acute coronary syndrome (including unstable angina and non-Q-wave myocardial infarction requiring antiplatelet therapy). Patients who require anticoagulant therapy, with or without aspirin, after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). It is also indicated in cases where there is a need to avoid thromboembolism after cardiac surgery (cardiac bypass or thrombectomy).
Clopidogrel may cause side effects such as headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, heartburn, stomach pain, nausea and vomiting. Patients who experience these symptoms should stop taking the drug and see a doctor. This is because the condition may worsen if left untreated. In case of severe side effects like allergic reactions and severe bleeding from any part of the body, one should immediately go to the hospital to prevent further complications.
Clopidogrel is often taken along with other medications like aspirin or warfarin to treat blood clotting disorders. So, you must consult your doctor before using this drug. The symptoms of a serious condition called Torsades de Pointes may be minimized if Clopidogrel is taken with medications like metoprolol and diltiazem.
